General Surgeon 's  Response
It is possible that you have strained one of the ligaments of the knee joint. You are doing a lot of walking, and thus the ligament injury is not getting rest, and time to heal. The most important treatment is to give as much as possible rest to the knee. Minimal ambulation is a must. You may even use a good knee brace which will support the joint ligaments. It would take 3 to 6 weeks for the ligament injury to heal completely, depending on the degree of the injury.
