Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
injured my right knee about two weeks or more ago. went to urgent care because my knee was hurting badly. was given anti inflammation med and muscle relaxer pills but as of today the knee still hurts and it hurts more so today. I do a lot of walking, walking as I work as a house keeper. Help me please as to what I can do short of going to a doctor.
It is possible that you have strained one of the ligaments of the knee joint. You are doing a lot of walking, and thus the ligament injury is not getting rest, and time to heal. The most important treatment is to give as much as possible rest to the knee. Minimal ambulation is a must. You may even use a good knee brace which will support the joint ligaments. It would take 3 to 6 weeks for the ligament injury to heal completely, depending on the degree of the injury.
