General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The use of anti-inflammatory pain medication would help treat the pain that you are experiencing, that is Naproxen, Cataflam, Voltaren or Ibuprofen. These should be used with or close to a meal to avoid irritation of the stomach that can occur in some persons. These medications are available over the counter.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
