General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

People allergic to penicillin are also expressing allergy to cephalosporins like Keflex in your case.

So, when a person is allergic to penicillin, we try to avoid cephalosporins as second line treatment.

However, in your case, eye pain does not seem to be related to allergy to Keflex but to the main diagnosis this antibiotic was prescribed (sinusitis? otitis?)

The other symptoms like being fatigued is also related to the primary diagnosis.

I advise to go back to your doctor and explain your new symptoms and discuss about the possibility of allergy to Keflex.

Wish fast recovery.
