What Causes Pain In The Left Hand?

Hi there, can you please tell me what could be the possible causes of a pain on the left hand side of my insides... I have had a sharp pain that has been there for a couple of days. To give you more info as to where it is.. if i put my hand on my waist... I can point to where the stabbing/sharp pain is. Please can you assist me to save me ringing helpline? Cheers, Debbie

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can be neuropathic pain due to nerve entrapment like median nerve involvement but needs to be reviewed carefully by your primary care physician.

Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief. If pain is severe nerve pain suppressants like gabapentin can be used. X-ray cervical spine may also be needed.
