What Causes Pain In The Left Hip?

I am hurting. I thought it was the left hip and going down my leg.....thinking it is sciatica. It just won t stop. I have felt of my left outside area, top of the leg and it s very tender. Pain goes front and back of my leg and down to my foot. I cannot get any relief. This started about 10 days ago and progressively gets worse.

Hello

How old are you? Pain in the hip radiating to the lower limb may be due to infection or lumbar spondylosis with sciatica or mononuritis multiplex or saphenous vein thrombosis with deep vein involvement in high risk patients or arthritis etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Get an X-ray done in the lumbar spine, nerve conduction study, color doppler of lower limb.

Use tablet Pregabalin once daily for five days. If symptoms don't improve, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
