What Causes Pain In The Left Leg After A Saphenous Vein Ablation?

I am post major saphenous vein ablation bilateral. I use thigh hi compression stockings bilateral. My left leg becomes painful ( aches ) in left leg mostly, only when I lie down to take an afternoon nap or put my feet up when watching TV. I am concerned that my that it may be more serious arterial insufficiency. When I remove the left compression hose (30-40mmhg) they are less painful. Walking helps and I go to gym most days and walk 65 min. and lift small wts. and use rowing machine 15 min. Should I not wear compression hose on the left leg. I wear them all day but not when sleeping.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

When was your saphenous vein ablated?

Pain may be due to local infection after ablation or incompletely closed veins or damage to the adjacent nerves.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Please get it done repeated color Doppler, use tablet Pregabalin.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
