What Causes Pain In The Left Nipple?

Hi My left nipple is darker than my right one. It is painful to touch and also feel the pain when jogging. Had Pacemaker implanted 3 months ago and initially though it was just part of the healing of where it was implanted. Is this a cause for concern ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

These symptoms are more indicative of cancer-related issues. You should see oncologist. Retraction of the nipple is often seen with cancer.

The ideal would be to see an oncologist and let the doctor decide investigations needed to be undertaken. The doctor might also want to get directly PET scan done to screen the entire body.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
