I am a 34 yr old female, and I have had pain in my left nostril for over a year now. I have to remove the crust and buildup inside my nose daily, which can also be painful and sometimes cause bleeding. I was tested for staph but that came back negative. Now I am having soreness and pressure in my teeth, and I think it may be related. Please help!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your condition may be possibly due to infection, non-allergic/allergic rhinitis, deviated nasal septum, nasal polyps or acute/chronic sinusitis. Don't ever try to forcibly dislodge the nasal buildup as it causes epithelial damage. Use normal saline nasal drops, that will relieve your problem temporarily. Try and rinse your mouth with lukewarm salt water as often along with chlorhexidine mouth wash daily 2 times. By day time use water vapour and at night sleep with a humidifier. Don't consume cold foods/ drinks. If you are feeling increased headache by bending down your head while sitting, it indicates sinus infection. Consult an ENT for further detailed examination,to check for anatomical defects which may be surgically corrected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
