What Causes Pain In The Left Rib And White Specks In Stool While Treating IBS?
Hello, I have been feeling a little off lately. I have this pain under my left rib that seems to get worse throughout the day. Mostly full and heavy that makes work difficult as I m a chef and stand and lift things all day. I have been diagnosed with IBS a few years back but I have never felt like this. I have been having a very long bout of constipation that often results in very little coming it when I do go. I took Metamucil two days ago and went this morning and was startled to see white specks in my stool. The stool itself is brown but there were many white specks in it. I haven t thrown up or have lost any weight. Please help as I also suffer from anxiety and I m fearing the worst.
Noted your history of having IBS constipation type, took Metamucil 2 days ago and got white specks in stool, there is pain in left rib area, no weight loss. Suffer from anxiety and fearing the worst. First of all, the white specks in stool are not a serious concerns as these can be due to desquamated colonic mucosa that was stuck to the stool or can be due to mucus coating. Anxiety itself is one of the most common cause of IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome. Hence anxiety and stress needs to be addressed very well either by avoiding the factors that increase stress and anxiety or with medications if required. It is best to get the stool and blood checked. Also a colonoscopy if advised so. Proper stool softeners and laxatives to give best results for constipation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
