Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a dull pain in my left shoulder, in the upper part of my back & chest. I have no difficulty breathing or swallowing. It mostly comes when I am getting out of bed (day or night) or getting up from sitting & it does not have to be from lying of sitting for a long period of time.
I read your message and understood your medical problem.
I see the pain is triggered by the position. The condition you are experiencing is very common. It is caused by bad habits regarding the inappropriate posture of the body. The treatment consists in fixing the body posture and educating yourself to create a good habit in the way you stand or sleep.
Use supportive pillows for your neck. Sleep on your right side with a pillow between your legs and one under the left arm to keep your body aligned. Start a program to improve and strengthen your posture. Avoid sleeping on your stomach and don't over-rest the affected side. Stay active
If no improvement is seen please contact your doctor for further investigation to rule out other more serious issues.
Hope this is helpful.
