What Causes Pain In The Left Shoulder Blade?

I m having pain in my left shoulder blade. It starts in my shoulder blade as a sharp pain and then moves to the top of my left shoulder and down my arm. My fingers tingle and lately I have noticed that my arm is numb and I have pain in my left shoulder when I wake up during the night. The pain becomes worse as the day goes by. It seems to be aggravated by driving or picking up objects such as grocery bags. This has been going on for 2 months now. What could it possibly be?

consult orthopedic surgeon and take x-ray to exclude fracture. figure 8 bandage and arm sling can be given to give rest it takes 6to8weeks for complete healing.
