What Causes Pain In The Left Shoulder?

Hi I have had a pain in my left shoulder and down to my elbow for the last three days. I am on a walking holiday and think I strained my shoulder carrying a heavy rucksack. The pain is quite intense and prevents me sleeping. I am taking paracetamol do dull the pain which eases a little when I walk. Should I see a doctor?

Hello,

This appears to be due to the strain of carrying extra weight as you have mentioned. Since you are on a holiday, in addition to Paracetamol, Ibuprofen can be taken. Together these drugs will reduce the pain. May apply some ice to the area where there is pain. If still it persists then it is better to see a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
