What Causes Pain In The Left Side Hip?

Hi! I m 28 years old and a mother of two boys. Everything has been pretty normal or healthy for me. BUT for the past 4 months or so, every time I get up from either sitting or laying down, my left side of my hip hurts...which then makes me limp for the first 10 steps I take after getting up. I find it really odd...and I m scare I might have some sort of maybe cyst since my mom suffers from that. Can you please assist with my doubt? Thank you!

Hello,

Do you have any trauma? It should be good to have a physical examination on your hip. Because there are many reasons to cause hip pain. We need more history and physical examination to help the diagnosis better.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
