What Causes Pain In The Left Side Of The Body While On Insulin?

I have been insulin dependent diabetic for 3 years. I have tried every long acting insulin, with novalog for sliding scale coverage. Within one week I get pain in left side which increases with each day until I stop taking it. I was put on an insulin pump and while getting the novalog 24/7 I began to get the same left side pain after being on it for 5 days. Would it be an allergy? What is the pain from since no major organ over there?

Hello,

It is not related to insulin. If symptoms persist for long, it will be better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
