What Causes Pain In The Leg After Surgeries For Ankle Fracture?

Hello, I had an accident back in 2006 and crushed my right ankle, Par Compound Fracture. I had two surgeries on it and have done fine until today when I stood up on it and it started cramping so bad and pain going from the bottom of my foot to the top of my thigh. Could the screws be coming loose and causing this pain? It is hard to walk.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is difficult to say. Considering your complex history I strongly suggest that you go the ER and have an X-ray of your foot and lower leg.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
