Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Legs Along With Blisters On The Vulva?
I started taking some new supplements in June. I have had a history or allergies and should have used better caution. I have had a number of symptoms ranging from aching deep in my legs and hands. Those have gone but the last 2-3 days, I have developed some large rashy bumps which also have tiny blisters. They are only on the left side of my bottom and inner vulva. I am suspecting one of the products. Is this possible and what should I do to relieve the swelling and itching? I stopped taking ALL supplements about 3 days ago when these bumpy symptoms showed up. Thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. Maninder's Response
Hi,
Although the possibility of the drug for causing this reaction cannot be ruled out, at the same time, there can be other etiological factors involved. I suggest you go to a dermatologist for a proper physical examination to rule out any infectious pathology. The rash described by you can be herpes zoster or fungal infection also. This can be diagnosed with proper examination of the area and microscopical testing if the physician considers it of use. Till then, you can apply calamine lotion to soothe the skin. Also, you can apply Cortisporin cream locally on the affected area. But these treatments are no substitute for going to a healthcare physician for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
