Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son (7) is very pale. Even his lips are pale. His paleness seems to be worsening lately. He also complains of aching legs (although he doesn’t complain a lot as he is autistic so takes a lot for him to say) he often complains of tummy aches non specific. He’s been tested for anaemia and his levels were apparently fine. But I’m still worried. He also has Von willebrand disease. The Doctor never followed us up as his iron levels were fine. However, I’m not convinced. I’m going to take him back but Doctors aren’t open until another 48hours so just wanted to ask on here really. I appreciate its very hard to say anything having not seen the person in question. Also when taking his heart rate I noticed he had arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat too). Just asking really if I should leave it until go opens again or ring for an emergency appointment. Many thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
If the child is in discomfort, it means he is having extreme weakness or breathing problem newly onset.
If so, then his arrhythmia should be confirmed by ECG, and you need an emergency visit. If there is otherwise, then you can wait for till next visit.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Varinder Joshi
