Hello,

Gout is a common type of arthritis that causes severe pain, swelling and stuck in your joint. First it affects the big toe, but its also happen with the other joint first in some case that I met.

Did you check your Uric Acid level? How was it? If you have Gout you should experience with redness, swelling, warm and tender and very painful. It also can affect more than one joint, but symmetry.

It is painful because the formation of the Uric Acid make crystals in the joint and your body respond to them.

We treat Gout with medication. Especially, when you have acute Gout attack we use NSAID (nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs) like Ibuprofen, Naproxen or colchicine or steroid.

If you use NSAID keep taking for up to 6 months, but be careful with gastritis. Go to see your doctor will choose one of those medicine for you.

For prevention Gout flare you have to take medicine to reduce uric acid like Allopurinol.

Lifestyle change also the most important avoid food that high Purine Include: seafood, shellfish, alcoholic, herring, bacon, turkey, beef.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
