What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen And Blood In Urine?

I am having abdominal pain lower, bone to bone, back too, up both sides, diagnosed with white cells and blood in urine a week ago along with a respiratory infection. Taking Doxycline. No burn or urgency to urinate, just pain, about a 4 out of 10. Could this be gastric or urinary?

Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.

Lower abdominal pain with back pain and with white cells and blood in the urine as in your case is very likely due to a kidney infection or urinary bladder infection. You may be having a concurrent respiratory tract infection for which Doxycycline would work. Doxycycline would be not efficient against urinary tract infections. You could take Nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day or Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice a day for 1 week. As these are prescription only medicines, you need to see a doctor.

Drink good amount of fluids as it can help to flush the infection away. You could take a mild painkiller like Ibuprofen 200-400 mg 2-3 times a day (provided you are not allergic to it, take it along with food).

I do not think your symptoms are due to a gastric cause.

I hope this answer has helped you.

Thank you
