What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen During Periods?
Hello Doctor I am 26years old girl and have been married for 4months. I have severe pain in my lower abdomen during my each period. Usually there is only black discharge during my 1st two days of period and from the third day bleeding starts but there is a severe pain in the lower abdomen. I normally take meftal 500mg which helps in the blood flow and reduce my pain. Please advice if its normal to have the black discharge on each starting of a period? As have been facing this since years. And is there any risk or harm it does during pregnancy,If taking meftal during every period?
Hi, I think you should get yourself evaluated by a gynecologist. Also do a ultrasound to see the uterus and ovaries. Pain during periods can be due to endometriosis or adenomyosis. First confirm the diagnosis and then treatment will be according to that. There can be some problems in conceiving if endometriosis is there. Also do a thyroid profile and prolactin levels as you have little flow during periods.
