What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen During Pregnancy?

Good evening. I m about 14 weeks pregnant. Last night I had aching pain in my lower stomach non stop for a couple of hours. This morning it subsided . I have no other symptoms. I m worried if i should go to the hospital to make sure everything is okay because I m not sure if it lasting for hours is normal, or should I wait until my next apt on the 15th of March??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Intermittent pain abdomen or abdominal cramps can occur during the course of pregnancy. Since you do not have any other symptoms, it is not necessary for you to be worried.

However, it would be better for you to take an ultrasound scan to ascertain that things are normal.

You can get the report reviewed with your doctor for a proper opinion regarding the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
