What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Left Side After Hysterectomy?

I had a lap assisted partial hysterectomy approximately 8 weeks ago and I am now experiencing pain in my left lower abdomen and constant pain in my lower back. They left only my ovaries & I have been diagnosed previously with PCOS. What could be causing my pain?

In my view, PCOS is less likely the cause of pain in the left lower quadrant of the abdomen and constant pain in the lower back area. I would suggest you get examined by your treating doctor, as pain could be due to infection or fluid collection. An ultrasound scan can help diagnose the cause of pain, and to ensure that there is no fluid collection in dependent parts of pelvis post hysterectomy. In addition, a routine urine examination will also rule out any infection or pus in the urine.
