What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Left Side?
I am having serious pain in left lower abdomen and to the right a bit too, loose bowels every few hours for about six hours, have had IBS in the past and was prescribed Bentyl for mid abdominal cramping. Will bentyl help for lower distress as well? This same thing occurred a few weeks ago and slowly resolved. I am on drugs ( cymbalta) that cause constipation so hav had to take senna or laxatives and stool softeners. I think bentyl might help. Thanks

Consult a gastroenterologist and get an ultrasound scan done to look for possible intra-abdominal causes.
As of now, you can take laxatives like Lactulose for symptomatic relief.
