What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Right Side?
hi! I have a pain in lower right abdomen. i thought it may be a small hernia but after reading about them here my symptoms don t match and of the kinds of hernias mentioned here. Any clues what it could be? I am 58 and had 3 large babies in my 30s. I have had some pain in this area before and thought it could have been a hernia from pregnancy or childbirth. this time however, the pain has lasted over a week.
There are many causes of the pain in the right lower abdomen. The most common and most likely cause is constipation and having plenty of fiber in diet, fiber supplements and fruit and vegetables and drinking plenty and keeping yourself active is helpful. Other possible cause ovarian problems and it is important to go and see your doctor to feel your tummy to better determine the cause. He might also order ultrasound for better visualization and reassurance.
Hernia can be a possible cause and many times the patients are not able to feel the lump and only by visit and possibly ultrasound we may be sure it is not a hernia.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
