What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Right Side?
Over the past day or so I have had a sharp, but dull feeling pain, in my right side lower abdomen or around towards my back on the same side. It does not feel like a muscle strain as it is not constant. When the pain comes it s enough to make me lose my breath
Dull pain in right lower abdomen radiating to back is typical kidney stone.Other possibility is appendicitis.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend, -Visit to surgeon for physical examination to rule out appendicitis. Investigations like USG abdo and urinanalysis. Depending on location, size, number of stones and status of kidney and ureter, medical or invasive management options have to be decided upon. -Antispasmodic tab.mefenamic acid /dicyclomine for the pain. -Cranberry juice for dissolving the stone by alkalinizing urine. -Plenty intake of plain water needed.Minimum 8-10 glasses of water a day. -Adequate rest advised. -If symptoms of urinary tract infection like burning micturation shows up,course of oral antibiotics like cipro will be required for 5-7 days.
Hope this information helps. Thanks
