What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen?

I just had a miscarriage on July 20th. I was 13wks. Recently, I ve taken a pregnancy test & it read I was pregnant. My last period started September 16th . In the past week or so, I ve been getting bad pains in my lower stomach. It is worse when I walk for any distance especially. Should i be worried && head to the ER??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is best to undergo detailed evaluation with a history of abdominal pain following a miscarriage. Urinary tract infection, uterine infection, retained products of conception should be ruled out.

Urine analysis, vaginal swab culture, pelvic ultrasound are recommended at this point. So please be advised to follow up with your ObGyn.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
