What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen?

I have pain in my lower right side and a CT scan is showing a mass by my appendix. I am scheduled for an MRI, but I am wondering what this could possibly be. Right now the doctor isn t saying anything. I asked to see the CT scan but the doctor would only read the report. Is there any reason I shouldn t be allowed to see the CT scan?

Hello,
There are multiple causes of appendicular masses commonly due to infection, sometimes stool impaction and sometimes malignancies. You can request the doctor for CT scan report or doctor might have spoken to your family or he wanted to be sure regarding diagnosis before saying anything.
If report is available, you can upload it here so that I can give some comments over it. You can also provide some details like age, presenting complaints etc.
Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
