I am 74 years old, fairly healthy, no prescriptings except my Loradiding for my alargies. I am having pain in my lower stomach, my back and needing to go the bathroom to urinate often but I am drinking a lot of water, thinking It might help. How can I tell if stones are the problem? g
Thanks for putting your query over here. If you have sudden onset of cramp like pain in your one side of abdomen that radiates to corresponding side's back, leg or genital area, there is possibility of renal or uretric stones. This pain is cyclical in nature i.e. it comes and goes, can be associated with nausea and vomiting and usually intense making the sufferer role in bed.It can be relieved by taking antispasmodic like dicyclomine or meftal spas. You need to immediately visit urologist in that case or any available physician. But if the pain in lower abdomen and back is constant in type,it can denote urinary tract infection.Drinking plenty of water is right thing you are doing. You may need antibiotic course along with it under physician's supervision. If needed you may need to get urine analysis or USG abdo done. Thanks and regards.
