Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had lower abdominal pain for three days. My last period was April 4th. My husband and I had unprotected sex on April 14th. I am on my second week of active birth control in this pack of birth control that I started on April 8th. The pain I am feel is a lot of pressure and it feels like I have bubbles inside my stomach and have had some gas. Today is day three of this pain and tonight was the first time I felt nauseas and vomited. My period Isn t due til May second. What is going on? Is there a chance I might be pregnant!
The symptoms of pregnancy, like nausea, do not appear so early. And you have mentioned that you are on birth control. So, it is not possible that you are pregnant. This sounds like a simple case of gastritis. I would advise you to take a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole for a few days on empty stomach. If your symptoms do not subside, get an ultrasound whole abdomen done to rule out other causes like gallbladder stone or appendicitis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma.amman
