General & Family Physician, Dr. Sushant's Response
In my opinion pain in back and ankles could be due to Deficiency of vitamin D. Hence vitamin D levels should be checked. Also Get vitamin B12 checked . However if pain in back is severe a MRI scan of back may be considered.
