What Causes Pain In The Lower Back And Head?

For the last 4 or 5 days the lower part of the back of my head has been very sore & mobility very limited. I ve been unable to sleep lying down. It feels bruised to the touch. I m wearing a neck brace do to the fact if I forget & turn my head to far to one side or the other I experience pain. Hope you can help. Thanks for this site,

Thanks for posting on HCM
Neck/back of head pain could could be caused by:
-stress/strain
-poor lying position
-Neck osteoarthritis though less likely given the acute onset
-Cervical nevralgia
I will suggest you rest well, take a pain drug like aceclofenac, a myorelaxant like miorel and observe.If pain persist, you see the Doctor for evaluation and a neck x ray or CT scan.
