What Causes Pain In The Lower Back On The Right Side?

I am having pain in my lower right back just above my buttocks - worse with standing still, feels a little better walking. Pain goes away when I lay on my back for a few minutes. Lifting doesn t seem to affect it one way or the other. Sitting it is a little better but standing up or sitting down get sharp pains. I am 55 years old and I have to work tomorrow. I am taking Motrin 800 mg, but it is not helping.
