Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have been having mild lower back pain for about a year now. I have not had a medical condition all my life. Am 42 years old. Been working with computers for 16 years non-stop and could be the cause of lower back pain which has moved up to upper back. I have consulted a Doctor today who confirmed there is an inflamation. An X-ray has been done today. But am curious what could have sparked off this condition. I have been healthy all 42 years except now. Is age catching up with me? I am told when one hits 40 then a couple of things start coming up and kinda ready for old age if this is what its all about.
Age is definitely a factor for pains and inflammation. Also with age calcium starts depleting out of bones. So you must start taking Vitamin D supplements. Also get you Serum calcium, Vitamin D3 levels done. One thing is sure that only pain killers are not going to help you. We have to treat the root cause of pains and inflammation. Though if you feel much pain you can take anti inflammatory tablets like Ibuprofen but only after meals.
I hope this will help you
Thanks Dr. Tripat Mehta
