What Causes Pain In The Middle Abdomen?

my son is 43 yrs. old, mentally handicapped. He has pain in middle of his stomach, since this morning early. He has a fever of 99.1 and he has been sleeping most of the day. Has drank some water to take his meds and ate small amount of soup. He has keep this in his stomach. He burping up gas.
