What Causes Pain In The Middle Finger Upon Applying Pressure?

My right middle finger has been painful when bending it or applying pressure, and I ve noticed when bending it the tendon slips off to the left side. Is this possibly a displaced tendon, and if so, is there anything that can be done other than the surgical repair? I do not recall any distinct injury, but am not necessarily a dainty person and could have done something without realizing any damage occurred.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can be soft tissue inflammation or tendinitis but needs to be evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon and may need radiological scans. Uric acid levels may also be needed.

Meanwhile OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used for pain and inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
