Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The only pain I have is in my middle finger - it also sort of gets stuck when bent and I have to use my left hand to open it out - it more or less pops back straight. The doctor says carpel tunnel, but I think I may have injured my hand right below where the finger meets my hand. It is sore to the touch there all the time. I am a teacher and spent a great deal of time last school year having to staple into a wall not a bulletin board. Could I have injured the nerve or tendons or broken a bone or is it more symtomatic of carpal tunnel syndrome

What Causes Pain In The Middle Finger?
Hello, * The locking of the finger during particular movements indicate compression of the nerve through carpel tunnel area giving rise to lock finger. * In my clinic, I recommend an MRI of the hand with details of median nerve region to evaluate the precise anatomic deformities and guidelines ahead. Kindly follow up with any recent radiology data available if any to look in more details ahead and discuss further in a best possible medical manner. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
