What Causes Pain In The Mouth And Under The Tongue Of A 12-year-old?
My twelve year old daughter has pain in her mouth. The pain is in the sides of her mouth and under her tongue. When I look in her mouth, I can see a red bubble on her frenulum. Should I take her to a doctor or dentist or how should this be treated? Thank you very much.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of pain in the mouth and under the tongue along with bump in frenum which seems to be due to vitamin deficiency which leads to cuts and sore mouth causing cheilitis, fungal infection and recurrent aphthous stomatitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid touching that area constantly and donot take spicy food for few days as it will exaggerate your symptoms. Drink plenty of fluids. Take multivitamin tablet which will fasten its healing. Apply topical corticosteroid ointment on it for few days. Apply aloe vera gel.
I would suggest you to visit oral physician once if your symptoms not resolving and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
