What Causes Pain In The Neck And Shoulder While On Tylenol?

I have a 99 year old who is having pain in her left neck and shoulder. I gave her Tylenol a few hours ago. About a half hour ago I gave her 1/2 of a 50 mg Tramadol. I just gave her the other half a few minutes ago. She has a very low pain tolerance. I asked her what her pain level was. She says 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. She hasn t fallen or injured it in anyway that we know of,.

Hi,

If this pain is of squeezing in nature and radiates from chest to left neck and shoulder then it might be due to cardiac ischaemia. You should immediately take her to the ER.

If not then try 1-2 dose of Tablet Dan MR at 12-hour interval and see if the pain is relieved. Muscular pain is usually relieved by this.

You can also give her hot compression below the neck for pain relief and muscle relaxation.
