General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Amitriptyline can cause problems with the heart and because of worsening of chest pain after taking it, it is important to let the doctor know. It might not be due to the drug, but it is always best to investigate and find the cause and treat it accordingly.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
