What Causes Pain In The Pelvis And Lower Back?

3 months ago I had a major pelvic floor surgery. A mesh was inserted in. But from day one and until today I still feel a lot of pain in my pelvic area especially in my growin and low back. I also feel very letargic and can t walk for long. What is your advise please. Thanks Slavica

Hi,
Thank you for using HCM for your health issue. I understand your concern.
Please don't be tense... there are ways to get rid of such pain.
The pain following pelvic mesh insertion surgery in pelvis & groin can be due to pressure of mesh itself or it's edges causing soreness nerve supplying the area / inflammation or infection of the tissue being pressed by the mesh.
Have you tried pain/ anti inflammatory medicines like Ibuprofen .. if not, try with with consultation of your surgeon for usefulness,strength & dosage of the drug after evaluation of your health & effect of operation. He may also add needful antibiotics.
If there is no relief after sufficient days of the medication,the alternative management by surgical partial removal of the mesh. This is to be decided by the treating surgeon only for the risk of recurring prolapse of pelvic floor & related complaints.
