What Causes Pain In The Quadricep Muscles?

I have been experiencing some kind of pain in quads from past three days.My daily exercise routine involves jogging,soccer,high knees and some other exercises,today while playing soccer when i kicked the ball i felt very sharp pain in my quad,it was also paining from past two days i not as much as today.The pain was so intense that i had to quit my training for today,the pain was there yesterday but i only felt it while running or while doing some kind of intense exercise but today i felt even while walking and sitting as well

As per your history is concerned please follow-
1)Do a full blood count with differential
2)Do a clinical examination (neurological)if any deficit present go for MRI
3)Check your sugar level
4)add calcium and potassium supplement in diet or medications
