What Causes Pain In The Right Ear After Using Metaspray And Monticope?

Doctor my son was suffering from a bad cough n cold with pain in the left ear. I met with an ENT specialist and he prescribed Metaspray, Relent, Combiflam syrup, Clavam, Nasivion for 5 days. This helped him. And on my follow up visit, the doctor told me to continue with Metaspray for 2 weeks (at night) and Monticope (at night). After 2 days of stopping the antibiotic his Right ear has started paining and he could not sleep in the night. Is the medication causing this? Or has the medication not helped?

Hello,

One would have to look in the ear. The underlying reason for the ear infection (viral inflammation, narrow/developing sinuses, allergies and inflammation, etc) are likely still there. Mostly they cause irritation or pressure from fluid build-up but might predispose to infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
