Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Right Eye And Sensitivity To Light?
I have been having pain in my right eye accompanied with burning and sensitivity to light for about ten days. There is some distortion to my vision when I wake up in the morning. Also have to moisture it more often, I have an appointment with my optometrist on Thursday but was curious as to what it might be.
Hi, Usually infections of your inner eye, of structures like your iris and eye muscles are associated with pain and sensitivity to light. When light hits your eye, it causes your iris to constrict and to reduce the amount of light that falls on your retina. Thus the inflamed muscles and iris produce the pain that you feel. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Wish you good health.
