What Causes Pain In The Right Knee And Swelling In The Ankle?

Hi Please tell me if you could.... I have pain in my right knee. It started this morning and I noticed this evening at the end of my working day that my right ankle only is swollen... You must know that in mid August I fell on my right knee, but other than the normal bruise , it went away...Should I worry? Thank you kindly

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to the injury. Injuries and subsequent inflammation can also cause fluid retention and swelling.

I suggest doing an x-ray of the knee for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
