I have a pain in my right quadricep muscle above the knee. Exterior radiating down below the knee and settles just above the exterior of the shin. Pain becomes more intense while lying down and slight relief is gained when The leg is not elevated. I have tried ice pack which appears to aggregate the area. Is heat recommended at this stage. Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

You may use hot fomentation for the pain in quadriceps muscle. If there is relief in pain, then you may continue with hot fomentation. However, the pain does not decrease, you may need to consult your orthopedician for clinical assessment and investigations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
