What Causes Pain In The Right Rib Cage?

I am having pain in the area of my ribs, right side. Started about 4 weeks ago, mild. But as time goes by it is beginning to concern me. The pain in now still in my rib area, but has moved from my side to my back and also toward the front. When I stand up from a sitting position I almost feel as if someone punched me. Does not bother me when I take deep breaths. But I cannot lay in bed, or lean against a chair back. Can you give me any suggestions as to what might be causing this. I am female and 70 years old. Thank you

HI
Well come to HCM
I appreciate your concern, I could discus this with few condition which are common for the pain that you have first it could be due cholecystitis without infection with bladder stone condition, second it could be urinary stone condition, third it could be liver pathology and last, such pain could be nonspecific just colicky pain some time some functional elements might be playing the role, you can go for investigation like ultrasonography till then Tab Dicyclomine can be tried hope this information helps.

I find this answer helpful
