What Causes Pain In The Right Shoulder?

My husband has been complaining about pain in his right shoulder for a few weeks we just assumed he may have strained it. Now tonight he noticed a hard vein, cord feeling tendon sticking out, right below it his armpit closer to his body is swollen about the size of a golfball. What could this be? He says it doesn t hurt but he has a extremely high tolerance for pain.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

He may be suffering from shoulder osteoarthritis or rotator cuff injury. Swelling may be lymph node or lipoma or cyst etc.
Please get one x-ray shoulder joint, a local examination of swelling.
Take a rest, use warm and cold compression. Use tablet. Naproxen twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
