What Causes Pain In The Right Side Of The Abdomen?

I have pain in my right side. My appendicitis was taken out years ago in Australia. I recently had a colonoscopy, but the issue was discovered through an endoscopy. The medicine (for arthritis) I was taking was causing internal bleeding, I am no longer taking this medication and stopped well over a year ago. I just found out today they are suggesting another colonoscopy. I m afraid they will decide to also do another endoscopy. Bottom line, my insurance didn t pay the last time and I m still paying for those procedures. How do I know the colonoscopy is the correct procedure? I was given medicine for an ulcer and it has helped, but I feel like someone is using my stomach as a punching bag and it is different to fall asleep at night.

Hi,

Abdominal pain could be due to Gastritis and it can be drug induced the drugs that you might have taken for arthritis could be responsible for the symptoms you have.

And it can be well treated with drugs like Omeprazole and diet restriction like to avoid spicy, oily or fried food.

The symptoms that you have seems to have some functional kind of disorders so try to come out of this.

In my opinion, there may not be any need of colonoscopy now, hope I answered your question.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
