I am having really bad pain in the top of my left shoulder. The pain comes and goes usually i have to take so over the counter pain medicine to get it to ease up. This has been going on for about 2-3 weeks. Once it starts the pain will go from about a 2-3 to a 6-7. Sometime it also feels like the pain shoots to the back of my neck. I have not been in any accident with the shoulder or are.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in the shoulder and neck . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondolysis , cervical radiculopathy , trigger points of trepezius muscle and nerve compression . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or x-ray . Doctor may also examine physically . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with vitamin d supplement . Doctor may also recommend particular stretching exercises and physical therapy . For now take proper rest , apply warm compresses on neck and shoulder and take ibuprofen for pain .
