What Causes Pain In The Shoulders And Arms After Suffering From Viral Fever?
I am 73 years old, had viral fever through last week, have lot of weekends aswell. now my arms and shoulders pain extremely. I am taking painkillers and muscle relaxers still pain keeps coming on and off and severe. Got Ecg done because I have high BP and I am diabetics aswell. Though Taking medication for both since long. ECG result came normal. What else shall be done. This pain is just not tolerable at times.
It is very common for a patient to experience muscular pain while having a viral infection. Because the pain in your case is severe, you may try to take painkillers regularly. For instance, paracetamol 500 mg and ibuprofen 600 mg together after food every 6 hours. Make sure you rest well and drink plenty meanwhile.
If you notice no improvement in 2-3 days or you notice any worsening, you will need to see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician.
